Warty Venus clams owe their name to the characteristic wart-like bumps or protrusions on their shell. These bumps, resembling small warts, are visible on the surface of the shell and give it a unique and rough appearance. The bumps can vary in size and shape, depending on the individual shell. This warty texture is a striking feature of the Warty Venus clam's shell and has led to the name "Warty" Venus clam.

Mussels in the traditional way
Cook the mussels according to the general recipe. Remove the mussels from their shells. Place 25 half shells on each of the four plates and put a mussel in each shell half. Mix the mayonnaise with the cooled cooking liquid and stir in the chopped herbs. Season the sauce with the Tabasco. Distribute the herb sauce evenly over the mussels.
