The beginning of modern oyster farming, with Yerseke as the center
Prins & Dingemanse, a leading company in the shellfish and crustacean sector. For more than a century, we have been passionately engaged in the cultivation, processing, and distribution of high-quality shellfish and crustacean products. Our rich history began in 1880 when farmer Jacob Prins founded a company in Yerseke for oyster cultivation and trade, under the name Jac. Prins.
Over the years, we have grown and expanded our range with mussels, lobsters, and a wide variety of other shellfish and crustaceans. Our expertise combined with our commitment to quality has ensured that we have become an established name in the Dutch and international fish market.
Prins & Dingemanse is a brand of Roem van Yerseke. For generations, we have worked closely with nature and understand the importance of sustainable business practices. That is why we are committed to reducing our footprint and continuously improving the eco-friendly farming and processing of shellfish and crustaceans.

How does it work?
A mussel seed capture installation consists of nets or ropes hanging in the water. Mussel larvae attach themselves to these nets and ropes, which then grow into baby mussels of one to two centimeters. This is the mussel seed. The MZIs are in the water every year from March 1 to November 1. In the summer and fall, harvesting takes place one or more times.
