Mussel skewers with cooked bacon and chilli mayonnaise
|44 cooked mussels||Fresh thyme (just the leaves for garnish)|
|5 tablespoons of chilli sauce||Olive oil|
|11 slices of cooked bacon||3 tablespoons of mayonnaise|
Surf & turf on a skewer! We thread the mussels with a slice of cooked bacon. Fry it briefly in the frying pan to heat up the bacon and the mussels until they are slightly crispy. Put a dish with the skewers on the table, serve with some chilli mayonnaise and enjoy.
Thread the cooked bacon around 4 mussels on a tapas skewer. Repeat until you have used up all the mussels. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the mussel skewers briefly on both sides. When the bacon starts to colour you remove the skewers from the pan. Meanwhile you prepare the chilli mayonnaise. Mix the mayonnaise with the chilli sauce. Put the mussel skewers on a tray and garnish with the thyme leaves. Serve with chilli mayonnaise.
